Will Family Survival System by Frank Mitchell Save Your Loved Ones?

This term simply refers to a backpack filled with items that would be absolutely essential out in the wilderness. Have you ever played that game, “What three things would you take onto a desert island?

It’s like that, except you can bring as much as you can fit in a bag and carry on your back over long distances. Some affectionately refer to these as Bug Out Bags (B-O-B). This name is preferred by survivalist and/or those who are actively preparing for the end of life as we know it.

My Advice: Get Yours as Soon as Possible!!!

In the worst case scenario, you won’t have time to pack all the things you need to live away from social systems. If you think otherwise, you haven’t imagined it properly. The idea behind emergency bags is that they’re packed beforehand with everything you need so you can simply grab them and run.

You don’t want to be spending your first night in the woods only to find out you do not have everything you though you did.

Once separated from civilization, survival kits are self-explanatory. They’re there to help you do just that – stay alive. As such, many will feature items that will keep you alive in the short term like food, water or matches.

But most will feature tools you will need in the long run, such as blades, water purifiers, rope, etc. Although many come premade and packed, it’s important that you take them apart and get feel for all the materials. This is also a great occasion to confirm everything’s there!

8 Crucial Equipment Your Emergency Bag Should Always Include

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d7gYX_L3Xvw

As I mentioned above almost all kits contain stuff that probably won’t make it through your first few days with them:

  1. Waterproof matches – Until you discover shelter, for example, you might not have the time to cut down wood and properly build a fire. It would probably make a lot more sense to simply use waterproof matches.
  2. Meal packages – Special meal pouches that are rich on nutrients and will not spoil will also probably be your main food source until you have enough time to hunt for the real thing yourself.
  3. Knife – These packages should also include things that will help keep you alive when those short term items run out. A solid blade is a good example of this. Knives can be used for all manner of application.
  4. Axe – Small handheld hatchets are also popular. Away from the warmth of civilization, you’ll need firewood, a lot of it after all.
  5. Long term fire-starter – Flint is awesome long-term solution to the problem of starting that wood on fire once it has been cut down.
  6. Gun & ammo – Most people, if they have their license, add a gun and sufficient ammunition.
  7. Shovel – Small collapsible shovels can also be helpful, especially ones made with a sharp side edge you can use for sawing.
  8. Cards – Lastly, something as small as playing cards won’t take up much space but could be invaluable for morale and passing time down the road.

Keep in mind!

There’s no law that says what you can and cannot pack, so it’s mainly a personal matter. However, here is great article dealing with necessary tools and weapons for surviving zombie apocalypse.

  • ed pierce

I think everyone should have an emergency survival kit in their vehicle and in their home. I keep one in both of our cars, one in my motorcycle and one on each level of our home. Being prepared is better than not.

    • JimWorthersky

That is really wise decision. I hope you will never need to use these but if you do, then you will be more than glad you have prepared these.

  • shaun wright

There is such a range of prices on these that it’s hard to know which ones are useful for what. I want to be prepared but not have more stuff than necessary making it harder to carry and keep hidden away.

    • JimWorthersky

That is good approach. Do not buy more than you could need and carry around.
